Fortunately, we will never know. Better a few years too soon than a few seconds too late.

No. No evidence of a nuclear weapons manufacturing site or raw materials were ever found after our invasion we invaded. It takes several years to produce a weapon after starting from scratch (look at Iran) so even if such a program had recently been started there's no way he'd have a weapon by 2007. Iran's program has been going since the 90's (maybe longer) and they still don't have a weapon. Even North Korea's weapon was nowhere near the quality of the nuclear weapons possessed by the US and Russia.

No. Not even close. The Iranians are still 10 years away from having nuclear weapons, and they are ahead of where Saddam was.

all the reports from that time period were proven to be fictional and to answer the question do you think that a country with the proven oil reserves as Iraq needed to develop a nuclear weapon when with the collapse of the communist regime in Russia should weapons were for sale to the highest bidders he could have just bought one

No. As a matter of fact, the technology that is needed was not at his disposal. Even the technology that was given to him during the Reagan administration was only minutely used for chemicle weapons production during the Iran-Iraq war.

I doubt it but I also was not then and am not now prepared for any unstable country like Iraq to have at their disposal a nuclear device I also believe that we are heading to a show down with Iran for exactly that reason.

He probably had access to them already but made sure all evidence was out of the country so the US would look foolish when they invaded.

We will never know about poison gas or nukes or long range missiles. He was stopped. Some people just can't grasp the importance of the stop.
