My guinea pig is about 4 years old. We just noticed a big bald spot on her back and she is getting thinner. She is eating, but she's getting thinner. Can you tell me what's wrong?

Your Guinea Pig could have diabetes, which is common in an older Guinea Pig such as yours. Take her down to a specialized vet and get it check out for sure though. Diabetes would explain why she is loosing weight but still eating normally. If you notice that she is drinking more water and peeing a lot more then you really need to get her check for diabetes as that will be 3 of the major signs for it. As for the bald spot you'll still need to take her in to see the vet as also that could mean a number of things and only a vet can tell you what it is for sure. Hope this helps.

Is the bald spot have scabs? If so it could be something like fleas. My Guinea pig had the same problem so I used Cat flea and tick shampoo. I scrubbed it gently in then I combed it in before rinseing him.

Weight loss isn't a good sign. Could be mites or scurvy. But she needs to see a vet. Weight loss isn't something to mess around with. Mites and scurvy can be deadly, but they are common and easily treated, if caught early! GO TO A VET!
