I told a friend of mine that I thought a woman we know was stuckup and he told me that she is shy. I need some insight on this. Thank You

Im shy but i dont think of myself as stuckup if your shy but your stuckup you would probably trying to show people how good your are at stuff without saying anything if your just plain stuckup you talk about everything that happens good in your life then/or talk about all these bad things about your life and put guilt on them, you show-off all the time try to act cool laugh loud and all. Some people are shy (like me) are afraid of being stuckup but still dont want to have no friends. Some people might think shy people are mean because they never talk. But i talk when someone talks to me even though im shy.

It often happens that people think somebody is stuckup when they are actually shy.
A stuckup person doesn't talk to you because she doesn't think you deserve her attention. A shy person is the opposite: she doesn't talk to you because she thinks you might not find her interesting. Maybe she would like to be friendly but feels too self-conscious.
So, if somebody doesn't respond to you, don't jump to conclusions. It may be worthwhile to keep trying. A shy person will usually respond if you are persistent in friendly way.

shy means she lacks confidence and stuckup means she has WAY TOO MUCH confidence.

Actually, they are quite the opposite.
The stuck-up has TOO MUCH confidence, and the shy person hasn't ENOUGH confidence.
Either way, you might be able to relate better to them if you do not take their attitude personally and realize that it is their problem and not yours.
