I just purchased the new 2007 Yamaha YFZ450 SE...How many hours should I spend breaking it in? And are there any good techniques doing so?

Follow the instructions in the owners manual. Yamaha knows best.

I think you should read your owners manual, it will give you that information and if you don't want to read call the dealer were you purchased the bike and ask them.
