I have been in a faithful relationship for 3 years and dont even want to sleep around. I think it is sad when people feel that homosexuals cannot actually love each other. The love is real, I say!

it is the same people who say that all blacks love watermelon and can't swim, that all white men have small penises,
that all Asians are super brains and that all illegal aliens are Mexican; they don't know any better and are too ignorant to find out the truth.

True love of anykind is a wonderful and beautiful thing, it transends all cultures, genders, and lifestyles.
Why do people assume gay men are promiscuous? Because that is what society has taught them. Just look around.. Have you ever seen the Show-Time hit series " Queer As Folk " - Yikes, it sends a very negative message about gay men.
I've got gay male friends who have been in a very happy, healthy relationship for over 10 years.. most heterosexual marriages don't last that long.
Don't let what others think bother you, it'll only weigh you down.

This is just a thought about why gay men have gained the reputation of being promiscuous.

During the late 70's and early 80's many gay men were frequenting bath houses. This was not a big thing until HIV/AIDS started. Then, gay men were instantaneously labeled promiscuous and HIV/AIDS was the result.

But that is only how gay men got the common label of being promiscuous.Since then, many gay men have educated themselves about the dangers of HIV/AIDS and use protection far more often then back in the carefree days. But the fact that at least 60% of out gay men have been to a bath house at least once in their life suggests that gay men are prone to being promiscuous.

But the odds of a gay man having promiscuous sex is only slightly higher then that of a heterosexual man.The reason that gay men have higher odds is simple.Gay men are sexually secure and not held by religious requirements of marriage before play. However, I also believe that heterosexual men have just as much of a probability to at least have one sexual encounter that is promiscuous in their life.

But odds and statistics never take into account the fact that gay or straight, most of us want love and some of us find love.

How can any rational person be so narrow minded to assume that being homosexual constitutes promiscuity? Any "ism" is a dangerous thing. Racism, Homophobia ism, Ag ism, Weight ism, Class ism is just another way of placing a flood of misunderstanding and hatred amongst people. I also cannot understand why people get so hung up on gay marriage. What is the big deal? How does it hurt anyone when two people decide they want to commit to each other by making a vow or a pledge? I just don't get it. Sorry for the soapbox and I wish you the best in your relationship. Any relationship - homosexual or heterosexual is a lot of work and takes the time, commitment and investment of the two people determined to make it work!

Most people that think this live in a bubble and only see stereotypes on TV and, of course, those Gay Parades that they complain about so much (but watch, nevertheless).

This way they think they have proof that all gays are promiscuous and always wear thongs, boas and dog collars.

They would die if they actually realized gay people have committed relationships, raise kids, go to work, cook dinner and go to church.

You are in the 10% minority of gay men who experience the neuro-chemical phenomenon of being in 'love' that produces the 'nesting' instinct that 'keeps' you faithful.

Yes, gay men love each other. Most can't be faithful. Not because they're gay, but the dynamic of two men being "paired-off" means that there are TWO 'hunters' and no 'gatherers'.

Let's get real, honey. Gay men, for the most part, are rampantly sexually promiscuous. If you lived in New York in 1985 you'd know how sexually promiscuous gay men were and can be. I won't say it. I won't say its' name.

I think that there are a lot of really promiscuous gay men out there (I also think that there are a lot of really promiscuous straight people out there). but you're right--we seem to take the rap for it. I'm in a 20 year monogamous relationship. I think that a lot of the problem stems from the fact that the people in long term relationships sorta become invisible....we don't go to the bars as much...etc...

All men would be promiscuous if they got the chance. Think of President JFK, who did get the chance. Hogamus, higamus, men are polygamous. Higamus hogamus, women monogamous - well, much of the time.

My mother married her childhood friend, he is Gay. he dont bring his private life home and neither does she, however they live in the same house, they are married and are the best of friends. They say they did this so that they dont have to die alone, to share income, and to have support in every situation.

I have to say they have the perfect marriage only with out sex of course.

I want a Gay husband.
