This guy asked me out on a date to go to a movie. I said no. Then he said he would just go alone then. I thought he was kidding, but he really did go to see the movie in the theater alone. Then he liked the movie so much then he went a second time to see it. Alone. Again.
Is that kind of loserish?

No, this guy is way cool and you are completely undeserving of him.

Not at all. If someone turns you down for a date, but you have interest in the movie, why shouldn't you go?

Film can be enjoyed in groups or alone.

The notion of it being "loserish" is just another type of peer pressure that helps make sure that "popular" people can categorize others. Your guy seems to be an individual, who can follow his own path...regardless of what others may think. It is a trait that should be honored.

I don't think so. I never have gone alone but some times I felt like since my friends didn't want to see the same movie, I would.

Some people go alone to be alone. They might have families or hectic schedules, or both. Going to the movies alone is a good way to escape life and relax for a bit.

What's the difference between staying home and watching a movie alone, or going to the theater to watch one? People go to a club alone ... and end up having a blast. IMO ... going to a movie by yourself doesn't tag one as being a "loser" ... and it's rather sad the *you* think so ...

I know some people who like movies a lot. They would go see movies alone if they didn't have anyone to go with. I don't think they're losers. It's better than sitting at home staring at the wall, doing nothing.

My husband used to do it all the time. Before we married. We were dating and if I did not like the movie, he would go alone because he never wanted to take anyone but me.

No way . He obviously wanted to see the movie. Lots of people who love movies do this. I think you should try it. you can really get into the movie without worring what the person next to you thinks

I think this is one of the best ways to see a movie. Catch a matinee when there isnt a bunch of idiots there. And you dont have to listen to someone jabbering in your ear, and can concentrate on whats going on. You're the loser by thinking ill of him.

Nope..why would you think so? Maybe he liked to watch the movie alone the first time so much he wanted to do it again.

Why, because he has the self confidence to go by himself? Ask yourself why you wouldn't do it and I think you will find that you wouldn't want people to see you alone so you care what others think of you and that means lack of self confidence. What do you care anyway, you turned him down.

I once worked in a theatre and it is very common to see people alone.
