i mean when u go to the zoo or the fair people spend their own money to feed these animals. the owners dont spend any money cause others feed them all.

I think this is a very good question~
It's a basic human instinct to nurture and give sustenance. As a kid, when I was sick, and my Mom couldn't do anything to help, she'd keep making me food. Homemade soup, cocoa, whatever would to make her feel better about trying to make ME feel better.
I think it's the same things with animals in a zoo. We sort of feel guilty about the animals being caged and controlled, while we gawk at them. It gives us pleasure to make the animals happy, or at the very least, it makes us happy to THINK we are making the animals happy.

They derive pleasure from feeding and "petting" animals. This is usually not good for the animals, but they do it anyway.
