Like most serious contracts, they're pages and pages and pages of text meant to address every possible interpretation and contingency.

So, probably bound and covered. Think what overachieving kids in high school do for book reports - the plastic cover, the title page, all that hoopla. Then just attach 30 pages of legalese and notary public seals and about 800 signatures :)
