Trust who you Love and don't go if you don't. Be good and Love Yourself. A short and sweet answer, but it sounds like you are a good person. I listened to some John Mayer...and he is good! Enjoy.

I can feel how you feel . I've been there and I guess I'm still into it . If I tell you not to waste time while you're still young you might think that I'm nuts ... but go and see John Mayer's concert . If you lived where I live you couldn't find good music ! Forgive me I don't mean not to be serious . But I wish you the very best . I'm sure that you can change and be that person you used to be . Go on fighting and just take it as a challenge ...

We've all been there. This time of year is when it tends to happen the most.
First of all, I think one of the biggest answers is already what you've said: Go to the concert! When you are active and social despite the fact that you don't really feel like doing it, you tend to find you enjoy it far more than you thought you would and you rarely regret it.
In the meantime, realize that feeling isolated, lonely, and withdrawn is ok for short periods of time. It's often when people make the best art, write the best blogs, and discover the most truths about themselves. Try to find something in the sadness.

We all go through times like that...best bet is to lean on your close pals or family to talk to openly and hopefully cheer you up. If you are just sad and are not really sure what the reason may be or have no reason to be sad, you are probably depressed and should see a dr. Tons of people go through it and typically therapy and/or medication as it may just be a chemical imbalance help tremendously. Focus on the positives in your life...going to John Mayer ain't that bad...and you indicated you are usually fun loving and friendly. Do yourself a favor and force yourself to go the concert, it will probably do you a world of good to get out and be around other people. Good luck!

Hey, I understand I was going through the same thing! A suggestion is to talk to friends often. Also if you like depressed in school just have your friends make you laugh. The more you laugh the better you feel. Here is something that will get you pumped! If you have a radio or something turn it out loud and dance like crazy! Get loose laugh freak out! Then do it everyday until the John Mayer concert!
It will work!
-love from thee FINALLY happy girl:D

Try finding that feeling in your body; that helps create a certain distance, you're not so identified with it.
You can also try ridiculing it as though it was just a corny joke. Again this makes it less real. Like all of us, they feed a lot on their self-importance :).
Such feelings have their disadvantages but they're also quite an indulgence. You don't have to be witty, energetic and responsible and they put you in a more reflective mood which can lead to important insights.
But of course, they can also be destructive so it's really good to learn to be their master and not their slave.
Good luck.

Because there is something else getting you down - think about what things you may have subconscious negative feelings (or dreams) towards - perhaps related to the person with whom you will be attending the concert?
