I stopped looking at my horoscope and daily tarot because I feel that I'm not getting anywhere with the advice. I used to read them all of the time like those events would really happen to me. Why is that?

People don't like to feel like they're in control (and therefore responsible for) of their own lives. They (including myself!) like the easy way out. If they can go to a Psychic, or have a tarot reading, horescope etc that will tell them what to do people in general feel relieved. That way they can say that any mistake is not their fault, it was fate, etc. Also, if you're told this or that will happen then you tend to think that you can sit back and it will come to you.
I like an old addage from Science of Mind, "First you treat and then you move your feet". Rough translation is that you can do all the positive visualization you want but you have to work in this world in order to achieve what you want (well for the most part).

Well that was a little off your topic =/, but I hope that it helps :),

Cheers,

Fortune tellers are a dime a dozen and you have to be careful. 1. Some are legit but most are scam artists looking to make a buck. It can be easy to get a name just from your girlfriend. You weren't there so you don't know how much info she gave away without knowing it. 2. When tarot or palm reading (or any other divination) is done you need to remember that the "forecast" is only good for the path that the individual is on now. It can all change with one tiny thing and none of it (or part of it) only be true. Nothing is written in stone, if it was there would be no free will. Who wants a life where they know exactly what will happen and when? That's too boring!

In life people need guarantees. We are always trying to percieve the future. We NEED to know whats going to happen. But there are no guarantees. Thats a hard fact of life.
So when somebody offers something that SEEMS like a guarantee then we get suckered into believing it as truth and will sometimes base our lives around the circumstances of this perdiction.
But if we can just learn to live in the moment, what a wonderful life we can live. The unknown is so scarry that we can get wrapped up looking into oour futures, even without help from another source. We can totally convince ourselves of what will be. And sometimes manifest it in our own minds. WE create our futures, by living today to the best of our ability.
GOOD LUCK

A lot of people look at horoscopes because events they say will happen to you, some may be true or false. There's no way of predicing anyone's future, we can only do things that help us have a good future or bad one. It's who we hang out with, who we date, what kind of person we are, that helps determine the future we are leaning towards.

A lot of people belive that the events will really happen to them. Once mine said that I would meet my true love in the next few months, and strangly a few months later I did, now were happily enganged. it's something to look at for fun and entertainment. it's just like an addiction like gambaling is.

You use it like it is the law. Factors in life can change. It is the persons free will that does that. Knowing where your sign is can definitely help, but will it make you successful? Not without you!

We may have times of the year when things go great and we can take advantage of those times. But to think a Brinks plane is going to drop a bag of money on your porch is ludicrous. Think about that statement. I told my husband that, he liked it. (the Brinks joke).

There are also many charlatans out there just looking for people to pay them. I have never been to one. I don't plan on starting. I am open to things, but I ultimately make the final decision in my life. I think we are all born with a self-destruct mode that is inherent. I don't know why but I think that is true.

ever notice how each bit of advice or "fortune telling" can apply to just about anyone? Give or take a bit? I agree...all that stuff is a waste of time. You'd think someone would have figured out how to cheat the lottery or something by now

If you went to a free website , then it is going to be general information. You can get a good reading and once in a while and the purpose of the readings are to tell you what might happen to you or around you. You have the power to make things happen or the foresight to prevent things from happening. I think that everyone wants to know what the future holds for them.

Mostly, people who create those horoscopes keep the desriptions for the particular sign very vague so that average people think it will really happen. Then something happens that you think the horoscope predicted and you're hooked. Best thing to do is ignore them.

All that stuff...tarot cards, horoscopes...is nothing but a bunch of hooey! Millions are made every year on trying to convince people that cards or the position of the sun/planets can have some kind of impact on their ultimate destiny. Only you can control your destiny. Just my two cents worth...
