please help...
I will be attending a Greek Christening this weekend and I have no idea what attire to wear
I know there is going to be heaps of people and I dont want to be out of place

How formal is it or can smart casual do?
Are pants allowed to be worn or does it have to be a dress?

I am really stuck for ideas and im stressing out...

Any ideas welcome & thanks heaps

well, im greek, so this is my advice to you:

*Dress as if you would for church. pants are ok, but keep them dressy (as in no jeans or khaki)
*same with your shirt or blouse. no t-shirts preferably.
*dresses are ok, nothing too fancy (nothing to look like your going to the oscars). but a nice dress you would wear to a formal party.
*o! and nothing revealing! its church, it's "god's house."
*shoes, not sneakers, so heels or nice flat shoes.
*stocking is optional, your choice.

id dress as if you would a fancy meeting with someone important at a downtown resturaunt. lol. good luck!

I agree with snoopeyy's answer. You will feel out of place if you are not smart enough. I would suggest that an outfit suitable for attending an event like a wedding would be the sort of thing to go for. Personally although I prefer to wear trousers usually - I have to say I have always worn a dress or skirt at events like this and in my experience most other women do too.
It is a fantastic ceremony - you'll have a great time.
ENJOY!

I'm not Greek, but my sister-in-law is. You will be seeing alot of very dressed up people. No gowns, or anything like that but you definitely want to dress nice. Pants would be ok as long as they are dressy and you wear a dressy top with it. Dresses are even better. Whatever you choose, make sure it's classy. No need to stress, just go and have fun.
