I had my son while I was in college. At that time I chose to basically give up everything that I love to be a mom. I finished college, and over time I have noticed that I don't do much of anything for myself...and come to think of it...I really don't have much fun anymore.

I am looking for suggestions of things to do for fun...that are not expensive. What do you do for fun? What are you most passionate about (and I am not talking about sex either!)?

Learn guitar or another musical instrument. With guitar you don't really need to pay someone every week for lessons, you can just find a book or video, or ask a friend.

You could also do some volunteering. If you like to teach, you could do a tutoring program. If you like working with your hands you could do Habitat for Humanity.

I like exploring new restaurants and walking through different parts of cities. If you'd like, you can bring a camera and do some photography as well.

you're right! I found that I like gardening, flowers (I drive around different neighborhoods comparing lawns). Have you noticed a pattern when you watch television, of what you like to watch? That may give you a clue. I'm always watching homemake over shows and I've found myself working on my home as well. I've always loved Jacque Cousteau and anything that deals with sea life so now I think I want to take a scuba diving class. Finally, I'm getting ready to join a local vet group and start giving my time to the local va hosp. Maybe that can give you some direction - I'm glad you're starting to think of yourself...that's something good for your son to see.

Go to any mother and baby groups where you can meet people in a simular situation. Go for walks with your baby, have a bath, go to an exercise class that you can either take your baby to, or that has a creche.
