Theres a Radio/Tv Broadcasting course at a local college, would this be a good course to take to learn the essentials of being a DJ? After college I plan to pursue it as a career with a friend of mine also interested in music production. A radio apprenticeship is offered to students with recommendation by teachers, would this be a good thing for me to? Will it teach me the basics of DJing while I spend the rest of my time experimenting on my own? Any other suggestions as to what I should do that may help me learn how to DJ?

As of yet, I own no equiptment aside from a keyboard, and I have no experience. What would your best advice be as how to get started examples of specific equiptment that would be best to have. This is my life and I want this, so any advice for a young driven female is much appreciated.

If you are in college, get an internship at a local radio station. It's a great way to get your foot in the door. I am a music director at an AC station in a large midwestern city. Been here 23 years. Lotsa fun, but not much money :(

You say you want to be a club dj . . . look into attending the Winter Music Conference held every March in Miami. They hold seminars & networking events for people from every aspect of the dance music scene. Check out wintermusicconference.com. Good luck to you!
