Well 5 of your questions, you should really be able to figure out yourself via Google. It's not really hard information to get your hands on. Zillions of "agents" are out there advertising and looking for young starlets all the time. You should make sure to have some cash. Headshots, auditions, clothes, makeup will all cost you dearly, and that's not even guarateeing anything really. You'll just be able to get your foot in the door.
As far as how should you "impress" someone? You shouldn't really have to ask this if you have natural talent. Don't try to force yourself to be some kind of unreachable dream person only to end up getting your heart broken. If you have the natural ability to be a singer/dancer/actor/entertainer/etc, you won't have to worry about impressing them, you will. Otherwise it will just look like you're trying to be something you're not, and they'll see that...they are professionals.
How do you build up an acting resume? Simple: act.

If you live in Los Angeles sign up with a service that casts extras - more valuable than acting class as it gets you experience and if you get 3 speaking parts you become SAG eligible once you are SAG you get casting calls and once you get a good part on your own an agent will call you to cash in and promote you. The important thing in being an extra is stay on mark and be available - bring a book or journal to record the feelings and information - HAVE FUN!

If you are really serious, you should also have a paying job that covers rent while you go to auditions.
The unemployment rate for actors & actresses is about 95% , so it can take a long time before you earn enough acting , to actually have a place to sleep and shower (those essentials when you audition).

Best entry level is local theater, small theater, rep companies and extra work. MOst of this is little or no pay intially but after a year you can make 20K or more.

wwwooooooaaaahhhhhh there....slow down a bit.

First you need to get into an acting class right away. And they will answer almost all of those other questions. :)

Good luck!
