First of all one should NEVER take a selection from a show you audition for, unless asked to, which may or may not happen if one gets a call back.
Secondly, your audition isn't strictly a judgement of song selection. That said however, if you choose something out of your range, or haven't memorized and rehearsed the audition song, you may not pull it off no matter how decent you are.
No offense but consider "American Idol Auditions"
The audition of course is to judge your range, especially in a musical, as well as your stage presence/demeanor. You should dress professionally, but not over the top. You should be humble without seeming "DESPERATE". You should be respectful, even if rejected.
Certainly if you're auditioning for a male part, especially that part, as a female there will be challenges, and I have to wonder about your choice. Consider that the genie is a very PRESENT individual, and is the controling factor in much of the show,,,even if comical. AND he's BLUE,,,smiles
Another selection, from another Disney film might work, but most importantly, KNOW it as well as you know your own name, sing it as if you've done it a thousand times, and by all means,,,"RELAX"

Stephen W. gives good advice. He's absolutely right when he advises you NOT to sing a song from the show, many Directors consider that an audition "no-no".
Your best bet is to sing a song with the same range and tempo as the character you'd like to play. Also, a song in the same vein as that character. The Genie is very extroverted mentor. Good songs for that would be "The Bare Necessities" from "Jungle Book" or "Be Our Guest" from "Beauty and the Beast"... both songs show characteristics important for the Genie.
Sing them well and sell what those songs are trying to sell and you'll do great! Break a Leg!

Don't sing something from the show - try another classic like Chim-Chimney from Mary Poppins or Once upon a Dream from Sleeping Beauty they both have a great range and can really be a show piece if you use your emotions when singing and really act the song. Break a leg!

I'd sure avoid "Friend Like Me", that song will trip your tongue. I'd choose "One Jump Ahead".
