The victim might be able to sue for libel or slander but sexual harassment is usually a workplace-type incident.

Here is how Oklahoma statutes define libel and slander:

Libel is a false or malicious unprivileged publication by writing, printing, picture, or effigy or other fixed representation to the eye, which exposes any person to public hatred, contempt, ridicule or obloquy, or which tends to deprive him of public confidence, or to injure him in his occupation, or any malicious publication as aforesaid, designed to blacken or vilify the memory of one who is dead, and tending to scandalize his surviving relatives or friends.

If any person shall orally or otherwise, falsely and maliciously or falsely and wantonly impute to any female, married or unmarried, a want of chastity, he shall be deemed guilty of slander.

Check the applicable laws in your jurisdiction.

Sexual harassment pertains to your job. If they sent sexually harassment about you, on the job, then you can surely sue them, however this this malicious rumor has cost you any money, then you can sue for it anyway.

If you can prove the statements were public, very untrue, you may have a libel case. You need to review the libel laws in your state, each state has different standards.

I don't believe......it would be considered hearsay....and the burden of proof would be on them. I don't think they could find a lawyer to take the case. Best of luck to you.

possibly for defamation of character but it's hard to prove and won't be worth the effort.
