It depends on what kind of music you like.

I think Davey Havok of AFI is probably my favorite singer/performer. Not only is his voice amazing, but his stage performance during live shows is awe inspiring. Like, with the crowd walking, and the crowd dives/flips, and the jumping around. Its quite an experience. But that's just my opinion.

He wasn't necessarily a performer, more of an entertainer, but the best for me would have to be the incomparable Ray Charles. When a state in the Deep South bans you from performing only to later adopt your song as its state song, you are not only a remarkable "performer", you are a remarkable person.

It really depends on your preference of music. I personally believe that a great performer means actually singing LIVE and not faking it. Also, I think many POP artists use mass amounts of dancers and lights to cover up for lack of real talent.
