I've been separated for 15 years. We get along great. Daughter is 20, no custody issues, no property. How do I go about getting a divorce?

Cheapest: Both of you decide who gets what (in your case nothing) get the divorce papers off the internet, fill them out, take them to your county court house, and pay the $15 fee. You'll each be sent a set, and a final divorce date. both sign and return... on that date given to you by the court, you are again single.

A bit more expensive... see a mediating attorney who represents you both... He fills out the papers, he files, you both get copies, you both sign, you both send them back to the attorney... cost $75-300, still cheap.

Helpful?

It will be cheap after all this time. Hire an attorney to file the paperwork for you. I think you can even do it yourself with online forms from attorney's to cut fees. When it is NOT contested and has been over the 2 yr. period, it is simple and cheaper. I would estimate around $200 -$300 at most if not less.

depending on where you live, there are some do it yourself divorces. They are simple and basically fill in the blanks. Seems to me you can do one of this divorces yourself as everything has been settled on your case. Most attorneys will do one for a basic fee and court costs. Call the Court house in your county and ask them if they have a do it yourself divorce and see what they say.

You can go to a legal service that will help you file a joint divorce agreement. In the U.S. there are agencies like "We the People" who help for a comparatively small fee. This will ensure that the paperwork is done properly.

cheap divorce... that is what we call an oxymoron. Divorce is NEVER cheap .Financially - AND emotionally it's going to cost you and your daughter.
