No not at all normal.... My daughter is 7 months old and grabs at EVERYTHING... If its within hands reach shes grabbing it... by 10 months she should be definently grabbing at her toys.... have you tried putting different things in front of her... things that crinkle or are shiny they love... I have listed below the milestones that a 10 month old should have achieved... If your daughter isn't matching up with most of them, I would talk to her doctor... best of luck!

The 10-month-old's motor skills include:
* Improving skills to crawl, climb, cruise, or walk (with help).
* Climbing up and down chairs.
* Can actively transfer an object from one hand to another.
* Sitting alone.
* Mastering retrieval skills with hands and fingers.
* Taking things apart and attempting to put them back together.

The 10-month-old's language skills include:
* Combining movement with speech like saying "no" and shaking head or waving and saying "bye-bye."
* Repeating new words constantly.
* Understanding and obeying simple words and commands.

The 10-month-old's mental abilities include:
* Imitating behaviors like rubbing self with soap.
* Continuing exploring and learning about objects (crumples paper, shakes a box, listens to a ticking watch).
* Reaching behind himself for a toy without seeing it.
* Seeing a hidden object and then searching for it.
* Favoring one hand for manipulation and the other for carrying.

The 10-month-old's social traits include:
* Showing moods like sadness, happiness, hurt.
* Showing preferences, liking music, identifying body parts.
* Crying if another child receives attention.
* Helping dress self.
* Showing love toward stuffed animal or doll.

Was she a premie? Premie's sometimes take a little longer to catch up. By 10 months she should be hodling toys rather firmly and can throw them on the floor (and laugh their heads off) if she's not even reaching for them yet there's a serious problem. If it's not a physical delay then perhaps it's a social delay. Odd social behaviour can be something as simple as autism. She would have had routine check ups with her doc though and he/she checks for these sort of things. So if your doc isn't worried, then I wouldn't be worries... but personally... mom to mom... it doesnt' sound right to me :(

No it is not, you should really take her to the pediatricain and mention this. She may have some developmental issues. Although children develop in different ways, what your child is experiencing at this age is abnormal for a normal healthy child.

No, that is not normal development for the average kid. I would have her checked by the ped, just to make sure she's not experiencing a developmental delay or has a physical problem.

No that's not normal. Does she have other coodination problems like not being able to sit up, or wobbly balance? Speak to her pediatrician about what other milestones she may have fallen behind on.

some babies are slower than others. Some are faster than others. "NORMAL" is not a word to worry about when it comes to babies. If you are really worried see if your state has a program called Babies Can't Wait. I believe it is a national program. My delayed twins went through them. They will test motor skills etc...g/l

No, you should have her assessed. She may need physical therapy. Ask your pediatrician for a recommendation or call your local elementary school; they will be able to get you started too.
