The writer, Benito Perez Galdos was born in the Canary Islands, on may 10th, 1843, where he lived until he finished his studies in the Universidad de Las Lagunas, after which he traveled to Madrid. He was also a journalist, and traveled because of his work, covering the World Exposition in Paris in 1867.
He was also in politics, and was a deputy to the Courts for several years representing the Sagasta party.
His most well known works are his "Episodios Nacionales".
He wrote chrionicles, novels, poetry and theater pieces.
He died in Madrid on january 4th. 1920.
He is not known to have lived or to have had any special predilection for Granada.
