You are going to have a fabulous time!!! My sister and my brother-in-law went to Moon Palace last year for their honeymoon. They packed some nicer clothes, but mainly dressed like tourists. Most of the Palace resorts have several restaurants and at least one will usually require guys to wear a collared shirt. (A polo shirt will do or a short-sleeved button-down shirt.) Palace also usually has restaurants on the resort that don't have a dress code. Also, I'm not sure if this is the "peak season" yet but if it's not, then you won't have to worry as much about dress codes because everyone and everything is a bit more relaxed.

Snorkeling... my boyfriend and I just returned from Xpu-Ha Palace Resort, and we went snorkling several times on the resort and at Xel-Ha and with Paradise Snorkel. All of them were wonderful, but I would really recommend the Xel-Ha snorkeling. Xel-Ha is a water park South of Moon. Xel-Ha has a lazy river and lagoons for snorkeling, and the fish there are unbelievable! Definitely get an underwater camera! The resort snorkeling was also great at Xpu-Ha and Palace provides clean, brand new, unused snorkels. (We brought Purel with us to every snorkeling destination "just in case"!)

Have a great time!

My wife and I returned from Cancun and 9 days at the Moon Palace, on the 13 January. There are several restaurants inside and outside. The outside ones by the pool, especially the Barracuda, during the day, just request no wet swimsuits. Of an evening, usually casual dress. If you go to the Asian restaurant inside, evening is more like business casual, no jeans and men wear a shirt with a collar. One of the best places to eat at night is the La Trattoria at the golf course and spa. It opens at 6 pm and doesn't take reservations. dress is business casual. You will enjoy. We plan on going back, either to the Moon or the Cancun Palace. Did not go snorkeling, sorry.
