While you may be able to reuse the old gasket, if it does not show any signs of damage when you remove the head, it really is false economy do do so. The odds are that you will have an early failure of the gasket, and will end up having to do the job over again. For the cost of a gasket, which is not much, I would always replace it!!

Yes, you should change the head gasket after removing the head.
When the head is installed, the head gasket will compress more so in some spots and less in others, to compensate for any irregularities in the head/cylinder mating surfaces.
It is possible to re-use the head gasket, but there is a good chance of it leaking.

It's always a good idea to replace the gaskets when you remove the heads, especially if it's been awhile. If it's been less than six months since the gaskets were replaced then probably not.

Only if you plan to put the head back on. The gasket forms a seal betheen the cylinder and the head. No seal no compression no compression no go.

is a good idea to replace the gasket. if it leaks, u'll have to take the head off again. do the job right the 1st time, and it'll be alot less aggravating.

yes!!!!! there so cheap it's well worth it to use new. besides do you want to go through the hassle of taking the head off twice just because you didn't use a new one and it won't run.
