We do a lot of jigsaw puzzles in the winter - they are inexpensive, and you can turn on the stereo and zone out while you put the puzzle together. If you have one you really like, you can glue it together and then frame it and hang it on the wall. Or, put together one that matches a theme for someone else's room as a gift - for example my nephew has horses in his room. Then it's kind of like a nice, glorified poster. You can also get those Kincaid ones, or a 3-D puzzle.
