my cd burner is broke ahh!! please help.. heres the situation.. i use itunes to burn cd.. but recently when i put a cd in and click burn disc all the cd does is make weird noises in the CPU and itunes says checking media and it eventuall freezes itunes.. then it stops and nothing has been burned. i really need it fixed.. it is an internal cd burner that came with the computer.

You can always buy a brand new one for less than $50. They are really easy to replace assuming you know how to use a screwdriver and smart enough not to touch anything else.

It sounds like the heads are WAY out of alignment if they are making noises. Just replace it.

well first off did you do anything to the computer like kicking it??? it may be just that you inserted the incorrect type of media (like a dvd) or it maybe that the cds you bought are very low quality. Also have you worked on the inside of your computer lately (like opening it up)???

or another solution maybe that a setting was changed i would recommend using system restore to restore to an earlier time.

Buy a new one and swap it out. It is toasted. Sony makes a nice burner.
