I'm picking topics for a research paper but it has to be an American event because we are doing American history and literature. Do you know if it was an American event??

Why not write about the dust bowl
Or Mount Rushmore
Or Space shuttle columbia
Or the secret White House at White sulphur springs in WVa, it no longer is used but it has a lot of information with pictures of where the president and congress was to stay and live if we were bombed. Go to www.Greenbrierwv.com

It wasn't an American ship, but was heading for New York when it sank. I'm not sure if you can class it as an American event or not.

well, many American's died and it was supposed to dock in NYC... but I think your teacher would be happier if you chose an exclusivly American event like: 9/11, bombing of Pearl Harbor, The Great Depression, etc.

I wouldn't consider the Titanic much to do with America, other than the fact that it was on its way to America.
