1st, is this even a question? 2nd, How often do people drive their "serious German hardware" to it's full potential? Unless you live by a racetrack most people will appreciate the refinement and reliability of a Lexus when driving on normal roads on their everyday commute.

The commercial is intentionally ambiguous so that a gay person watching it would think that the two are a couple and a straight person watching it would think that the two are neighbors.

Are you asking if they were really a couple- as in, were the actors actually a couple? I have no idea, but my gut instinct would be no- just guys playing gay/bisexual characters. But yes, they are fully intended to be seen as gay in the commercial.
I hope that we soon start to see a lot more gay couples. My favorite one right now is the one for the airline:

I doubt they were an actual couple but yes I am sure you'll be seeing more commercials that embrace diversity like that.

Well, they only did that to atttract the "gay portion of america" so yea, I wouldnt dobt that they would have more of those commercials coming.

there are others I have seen. ford,Lexus,travelocity. they are mostly on gay networks like logo and gay friendly affiliated networks.
