There is nothing wrong with discussing any subject at the dinner table if you are accustomed to talking about these subjects anyway. Our children, although now adults, know they can discuss any subject with us any time. We have never felt that discussing sexual issues was wrong and they have never been steered wrong. We are very happy that we have no subject that cannot be discussed anytime.

it may be better than burping, passing gas, picking at teeth and other things that should be done in private.

I think its okay. if you your family is as open as this question makes it look, i believe that if it offends somebody all you have to do is ask to stop it and I'm sure they will comply.
