definetly go with the dell because intel i believe is far more reliable and it is what i always use and will forever. the only thing is that you didnt say how much ram you will get with the dell. you did for the amd. RAM is just as importan if not more than a cpu. i would without a doubt get the dell.

Leave AMDs well alone. Go for the processor that the professionals go for... INTEL !! Dell is also a very good brand even though you will have to deal with the poor English of an indian lady in India when you telephone for information !

Get the Dell. The Core 2 Duo is by far a supperior processor. Not only does it have double the level 2 cache but it also has three times the bus speed.

For me if you asked about the price and the way you will used for graphics, the first one is OK and one more good about HP is if you will upgrade your VGA adapter with any brand it will work.

Dell is also OK, but sometimes it give you problem regarding the upgrade of VGA adapter even the memory upgrade.

I think this will help you to decide think about the cost, the way you will used the computer. As i'd seen your requirements is not much, the important thing based on your requirements you need a better VGA adapter, memory and the speed of your harddisk.
