Yea the question is a bit emotional. But i just finished watching a video, concerningn poverty in the U.S and it really touched me. Like you usually see, america as this beatuiful place, but in some states, you see people suffering and i thought my life was sucky. Like they're living basically the the stone age, sad to say, their homes are like those of 3rd world countries. It's very very sad, i actually shed a tear. Its' just not fair, i often ask myself, why are people so ignorant and violent. When you try to understand their circumstance, and why they have to steal, they can't read...it just shows you the world we live in. I think it needs severe change, and most can't see this because they're too comfortable in their own life, working and then going home and sleep. they barely have time to recognise the world around them, I dont know, its confusing. Maybe i think i need to do something to change it, but i think many people have that attitude, but how can you change the world!?

No, it's not fair - and I doubt it ever will be, given human nature.
How can you "change the world?" You can't, BUT you CAN change YOUR world. Cultivate your own garden, and help all those around you that you can as much as you can. They are countless opportunities to do so but it's going to require you to devote some of your time and money to making a difference.
Don't try to "change the world"; the enormity of the task will overwhelm you and you'll get "compassion fatigue" very quickly. You'll end up giving up and cynical.
But do what you can in your own small way. Just think - if enough of us did only that, we could change the whole world. But until then, change the lives and the world of the needy that are close at hand.

I think people don't really ever think about what they have, and how lucky they are...people always want more than they've been granted...and when they see other people suffering, they look the other way because they don't want to think"hey, that could be me." You can't change the world, of course, but if you donate your time, or money, or whatever, you'll be helping SOMEONE, and that makes a world of difference to that person.

Government is not here to secure the basics of life. Rather, it is here to provide security and infrastructure. The rest is up to YOU!! Whaaa, it's not fair. People become complacent with their lives. It's the way their parents lived and their grandparents. America is still the land of opportunity. Sure, some are born with a silver spoon but you can bet somewhere in their family history was an ancestor who got motivated and worked his backside off.

I appreciate your compassion but I want you to know that most of the so called "documentries" about these types of subjects are very carefully produced to elicit exactly the emotions that you exhibited and the reason is usually that these same people are trying to get you to depart with your hard earned money to "help" these poor downtrodden souls that you just watched suffering in their production. ALWAYS follow the money trail !!!
Most people in America, just like you and I get up each morning and go to a job to EARN a living to support themselves and their families just as we all should.
The best we can do in most cases is to clean our own side of the street. It hurts to see a child crying, who is unbathed and whom the producers claim are starving but very few people in America are in fact starving and those who claim to champion their cause are usually just trying to take your hard earned money, extract some of it for themselves whether govt. or private and pass along a pittance to the affected folks they appear to represent.
They could give them a job instead but they would rather give them a little of your money and appear to be helping when in fact they are really perpetuating the problem because they have found the gravy train in pretending to be helping.
"Give a man a fish he eats a meal, teach a man to fish he eats forever" anon. How long do we let this scam go on???
Just do what you can for you and yours and help someone DIRECTLY when you can.
Remember, Hitler made a difference too.

Of course it isn't fair. Life never has been fair.
If one wants to make a difference, one has to focus and decide what it is one wants to change and learn a lot about how to change it. Then do it.
However, if you're really rich, you can give lots of money to other people who are working on lots of different projects to make things better. In that way, you can make a lot of different changes.
Or, if you're a media type, you can help make more people aware of what's wrong and how they can help change it.

When I see those things, I think of failure. Our society failed those people. The reason we institute governments among men is to secure the basics of life without threat. This is the only reason for any government to exist. It is why our progenitors banded into family groups and tribes. To aid and assist its members in meeting the challenges that life presents to us. The strong protecting the weak and the less fortunate.

many intelligent, sensitive people feel as you do. based on my experience, the wrong approach is to become angry and resentful. that only hurts YOU. the right thing to do is to take action to help, through direct action for their benefit and that of others similarly situated. it is to your credit that you are "advanced enough" to care about others. this culture does not necesarily support such a way of being. selfishness, greed and "terminal ego and narcissism" are not uncommon, especially among the males. and many of our popular "role models" are thieves and psychopaths. best of luck!! btw to gain some insight into why things are as they are, take a look at http://www.montalk.net and also, this http://prisonplanet.com/articles/january2007/290107rockefellergoal.htm

i do no longer. "He does not seem to care approximately people that have not have been given jobs, or are hectic that they could lose their activity." 4/09 $780 billion stimulus; 3/10 $18 billion jobs bill; 8/10 $26 billion jobs bill. "He mocks us at each and every probability he gets." I undertaking you to offer one quote the place he mocks us. "He constantly is going on holiday" below previous presidents whom you probably did no longer criticize; maximum "holidays" have been basically 2-day weekends. "is going to high priced basketball video games" He has been to 3 interior the previous 18 months. "is going golf" yeah, in assessment to previous presidents whom you probably did no longer criticize (learn "now watch thiscontinual") "and to Hawaii' his living house state; as quickly as earlier taking workplace, as quickly as final January "sends his spouse and young toddlers on million greenback holidays " Spain? maximum individuals of which replaced into paid for via the Obamas. Oh, via the way, they are millionaires. and of direction, you probably did no longer criticize previous presidents for doing the comparable component--and specific, they occurred for the duration of undesirable financial situations.
