You have a lot of things that are not included in your question. You haven't said what you were doing before and why you felt it was a good job. You haven't said how long you did that type of work. You haven't revealed why you're no longer doing that work (lay off, industry shift, accident, and so on). And you don't say what types of things are of interest to you, that really get you excited.

First of all, we need to know what *you* deem a "good job." Actually, maybe that's second. First is for *you* to determine what the definition of "good job" is and what it entails. You need to do a self assessment in relation to your interests and your personality type.

While pay is the measure for many people, they soon learn that pay is not the yardstick for measuring whether they have a good job or not. If you're doing work that does not challenge you but you're paid $1 million a year, is it really a good job? If you're earning $15 per hour for doing architectural gardening (designing someone's yard and acutally putting in the plants, determining which ones are right for the terrain, the house, the water needs, and so on -- and you'd probably be earning more than $15/hour but this is just for argument's sake) and you walk away every day feeling completely fulfilled, is that a good job? It depends on your values and what's important to you, as well as what creates a meaningful experience.

There are many other factors to be considered. Do the self evaluation first. There are quite a number of sites that offer personality and interest assessments. Determine whether you have the skills to do that type of work. If not, figure out what will get you in the door; then market yourself and look for ways to get promoted once you've gotten in.

Strive to learn. Keep learning in order to stay competitive. Read. Network.

There is this great site called dormcheck. It pays you to post your opinion and it also pays you to post pictures. There is also cash boosters that will reward you with 30$. It even pays you a certain amount for logging in. And if you think that is cool, they also pay you to use a web search bar in their site. If you get the correct word, they pay you a prize. They also have daily contests that reward you with some good money. So why not try it. Its free, and dependable. And people have even posted a picture of their check that they had recieved.

P.S. The more you post at this site, the more you earn. If you also referal your friends to the site you will gain extra money every time that they post. It is progressing, and soon there might possibly be a pay to click section within the site. I am sure you will earn some extra money.

Here is the site:
