How to put downloaded psp games on psp?

Question

I have downloaded a few psp games and have tried numerous times to put it on my memory stick. i have enough room on it. I put downloaded game folder in psp "game" folder, came up as corrupt data. tried in mp root as well and was not even recognized.. i have factory settings, system software is version 2.80 is that why???or do i need to convert game files??? feel free [e-mail] thanks.
