What's the best way to meet your neighbors? We don't have any associations or neighborhood watches, etc, but would like to know who lives around us. Host a BBQ? Organize a block party? Knock on doors with drinks in hand? Suggestions??

I wouldn't do the drink thing, but the other ideas sound great. You could just take a pie or other kind of food item over and knock on the door. Tell them you're their neighbor and you're just wanting to get to know them a little better. Then if they invite you in, while you are visiting, ask what they think about a block party for the neighborhood.

We tried this with our neighbors when we first moved into a mobile home park, its very nice here, park like setting, etc. well it was christmas time & hubby & I thought it would be nice to hand out christmas cards to the people on either side of us well the one guy said thank you & we talk to him every once in a while the other people told us to get lost! How rude was that? I need suggestions too!
