Are there opportunities for auto mechanics in the US Forest Service?

How do they maintain their vehicles? Does each park or forest have a garage and a team of mechanics or do they farm out to local businesses? Does it depend on the size of the park and fleet? Do they use more diesel vehicles than gasoline or are they switching to alternative fuel vehicles?

I know that in Yosemite National Park there is a full maintenance garage. You should contact your local forest service office.
