Anyone out there have ideas or know how a 45 year old woman should dress? I'm told I dress too young! I wear levi's--tank top and hip-high shirt--sometimes i wear a pullover sweater and i love my hoodies--I don't dress in hip huggers or the teen stuff. I'm just comfortable--I am 5'3" tall--petite-and weigh 105 lbs--what's the style? I like to look sporty--that's my style--yet comfy--any help would be appreciated--thanks.

They say that 45 is the new 25, but I say, who wants to go back there when you can have it all now!
I don't get told that I'm dressing too young, even by my kids. In fact, my daughter used to steal my clothes, but now she has a job - whew! When I asked why she wanted all my clothes, she said, "What can I say? You got style."
My grey bf has to keep looking over his shoulder, because young men try to flirt with me all the time. In fact, they are so sure of themselves, that they will do it with my bf right there! (And I don't even wear makeup!)
So, my feeling is that if you have your own style, keep it.
Wear it and flaunt it! Be proud of who you are and don't let anyone, and I mean anyone, tell you who you are. You've worked too darn hard to get this far, to allow somebody else to say who you are!
Be who you want to be.
As for me, I like myself and I only want to be me. To me, that's the only way to go.

45 is not that old and the way you described yourself you probably look great for your age but there is a fine line that should not be crossed- you enjoy wearing hoodies then keep wearing them but look in different shops for the hoodie I would try Ralph Lauren and the new Lauren jeans line They are available in petites also try lines like BCBG , stores like Cache these shops/clothing lines are all trendy but more sophisticated if $ money is an issue go to the better shops/dept stores and see what you like , remember don't go for too young of a look and then shop at less expensive stores for similar styled items. if price is not a problem go for the Gucci ! I also felt the older one gets the better clothing she/he should wear- but on that laundry/grocery shopping day the old navy hood is alright!

i am fifty and i dress as i please.
I wear a lot of hippie flower clothes .
I work really hard for the fine body i have and the paycheck i make.
I dress to suite me. When they buy my clothes they can dress me..
my boyfriend loves my gurly toned muscles
If its your kids they are going Thur a stage
My son used to embarrassed and angry because people either thought i was his sister or his girlfriend!
now he is so proud of me I am of him also.
He was no picnic. But now he has grown up.I watch those style shows and i appreciate input.
But the final touch is mine.
I style is affectionately called hoochie mama meets the gypsy lady! beside 45 is the new 25.
Tell your kids to shut up and be glad they are not my kids! God bless you.

You have very nice body weight!
I think anything would look good on you.
If you feel like you are dressed hip too often, try wearing nice one piece dress. They are surprisingly comfortable yet, sophisticated! Try colors that are bright like red, blue, green....
dark colors just makes everyone around you depressed and make you look older. Buy 100% cotton where you can just wash with water... no dry cleaning only kind of dress... no no

You can dress however you want. But since you're being told you dress too young, you probably are.
You can try trouser jeans instead of Levi's. Trouser jeans add some sophistication but they're still denim.
Instead of tank tops, try polo shirts or button-ups. By all means, don't wear hoodies! Instead, try a v-neck cashmere sweater or a nice solid color knit that flatters your coloring over a nice solid color t-shirt.
I bet you're wearing sneakers, too. Instead of regular sneakers, invest in a pair of funky ones that are a little more dressy and stylish.

As long as your comfortable and comfy don't worry about what others say.
If your working where it matters then dress accordingly but from what you described it sounds pretty good to me.

try some nice dark wash jeans and a tee shirt. obviously not the mommy jeans cuse those rise all the way to yer boobs but no low rise either. shorts that extend a little past your finger tips would be nice and flattering swim suits. try victoria secret =) they have really nice clothes although they are kinda pricey

wow cool my mom has a more formal look but i would say try shopping at banana republic, urban outfitters, nordstroms if you really still wanna look young forever 21 and also target is also good but to look less young use more " dull" colors...

my mum dresses in stuff like that and all my friends say she is so cool seriously keep it going if that's what you like follow it!
