I'm studying Middle Eastern Languages (second year) BA (Hons), and am wondering what people think. Is the University of Manchester (UK), one of the best Universities in the world? It's certainly one of the best Universities in England, or the UK for that matter.

Google each of the prominent people you most admire that are already in the field you aspire to enter, and see how many of them went to University of Manchester; that should help you answer your own question!
Though to a great extent it doesn't really matter where you go to school...it's what you do that counts.
