I know injury can affect the eyes - but I question that muscle strain is the likely cause. Because the question has to deal with muscles I will suggest a book that I haven't gotten a chance to purchase yet that my chiropractor recently told me about having to do with muscles. The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies is written for the average person to get and maintain good muscles instead of otherwise impaired ones it may help.

From my 22 year old son and my 2 year old granddaughter - the first thing for a lazy eye is cover the good eye to help build the muscle strength back up
