Are they hard to install...I have a Dvd already but it will not record

It's not a Lap Top It's a tower pc...The DVD that's in there is just a player not a recorder

is this on a laptop? yes pretty dicey to install.....I would say either sony or a toshiba dvd -r.....you can aslo pick externals that plug into USB ports and if recognized by bios can boot as well....when I lost my dvd player cause of a short....i went external cause the cost facor was cheaper....if it is for a desktop........very eaasy to install....just pay attention to how it is connected now and put the same wires and jumper settings in the same way.......then run the software that comes with .....good luck hope this helps ya.

All dvd recorders are much the same, are you sure its the recorder at fault and not the software you are using, or the discs?
Just buy a cheep one if you have to. Use nero for you recording.
