do i have to do the CFA? i dont want to

what i must do other than graduating with a finance major?

The age is not so much a problem as the education and experience may be. MBA is required at big name firms. The school you go to matters.

No one starts at the top. Find a firm looking for a grunt to do analyst work. It's not exciting, but you learn a ton. From there they can promote you to other positions if they like you. At the same time, get your can into a good MBA program and study hard. The CFA designation never hurts either. You think your MBA may be tough, the CFA will make the MBA look like day care.

Sounds to me like you want someone to hand you a prestigious job.

There is a difference between being an investment banker and being in the IB business. A banker is high up there with authorities and decision making power. Being in the business means you work as part of the team in various supportin roles.

The business is well established so you have to qualify, ie, typically MBAs majoring in finance. You don't seem to want to put in your dues and you have very chance to fit in.

Well, you better show a knack for good investments, in-depth analysis, loads of work experience while in college, and stellar grades
