I'll admit that I'm not very familiar with what mage/magicians believe, in contrast with what I, as a witch, believe, but my opinion, from a witch's viewpoint:
I would start with what you are interested in. For example, if you would be interested in healing, start there. Read as much on it as you can, then try some 'spells' out.
Or, if you are interested in tarology, start there. Maybe make a list of what drew you to being a magician in the first place, and go down it, studying.
Unless, of course, you are playing D&D, then I would say "Go kick some of 'The Shadow's' butt!"

You are not a mage. You don't even know what it means to be one.
Anyone can write a spell, so knowing 9 means nothing.
My advice is to go to your local library and check out books on Wicca/Mages/Magick.

Seriously, if you don't know what to do with your magic, then perhaps you should do some research and start with the basics first. Magic can be dangerous if you're not careful with it.
