i just tested 2 pc and 1 laptop connected using ad hoc wireless :)

Yes it is. As long as the channel on the wireless card is the same on all cards. You may want to turn off encryption off if you're don't have any need for security. It'll make it connecting the machines easier

yes....you can set it up to only allow.....say 3 connection and set up encryption at 128bit and the router software should generate you a code that you go to each computer and load the code...much like when you sign into your ISP....never leave a wireless network unsecure...people can sit outside your house on their laptop say....and connect that way....I know I used to park outside hotels/motels with FREE wireless network signs up so that when I was driving trucks I had free internet access no matter where I was.......at your home...this would steal your bandwith and make it go slower........in your router settings is a HELP file....read that and it will help you further........remember NEVER leave your network unsecure......you're paying for it...not the others that might access thru you.......besides that can get into your system sometimes if your router and windows are not secured correctly.....again read your HELP file in windows about wireless connections on how to protect yourself.....hope this helps ya
