Your computer uses memory on each drive. If you only have one dribe, where do you think your OS, and programs are stored. They are usually more the 4 Gb though. Some files are hidden unless you know how to access them through DOS commands. But then this is common with any computer. If you do a Recovery and then Install xp pro, you are good to go.

something similar to this happened to me, i have a comp with a tv tuner and when i use nero to burn my recordings it leaves a large mpeg in a nero folder, i didn't realise this til my comp got filled up. so i just looked through and found where the largest folder was. it might just be a program that makes backups you haven't noticed, but i'd either do a search manually by going through the explorer and finding the largest folders or just try a search by size.
