Logic answers that one.

Ask yourself this: do you believe we live in a safe society and a safe country? Do you trust that nothing bad is ever going to happen to you?

If you answered that you DO feel safe, look around you, read the news. Are you willing to bet your life on the supposition that you are safe?

Enough said.

Try this. Rephrase it to "Why should a person learn the skills for personal safety?" Do you wear a seat belt when you drive? Do you lock you house when you leave it? Do you travel alone in dark alleys?

Self defense does not mean learning to fight, although physical techniques are certainly a part of it. It means disciplining yourself to always be aware of you surroundings. It means learning to avoid places where trouble is common and it means understanding risky behavior and ways to negate it. Ask your self why you should do that.

Risky behavior is fun after all, right up until the minute it blows up in your face. Unfortunately too many people, most of them young adults, think they are bulletproof, that it will never happen to them. Yet we all know it does.

Self defense is not a single skill that you master, it is a lifestyle of personal safety. Learn not to be a target.

Good luck

Because you never know when a "bad guy" might attack you - the "bad guy" could even be a friend or relative you trust.
