The reason that machines walk across the floor is because they are not setting solidly on the floor.
Some machines have self adjusting legs on the rear. You tilt the washer front and let it drop about 6" off the floor to set them. Once the rear legs are set you adjust the front legs so the machine sits flat and does not rock from corner to corner.
Some machines have all four legs that you can screw in and out to level the machine. The machine does not need to be perfectly level so don't go get out a level and spend hours trying to get it that way. As long as it sits flat you will be fine. The mistake that everyone makes though is turning the legs out continuously in the process and the machine becomes top heavy and then no matter how level or solidly it sits on the floor it will walk. Just start with the legs turned all of the way into the machine. Determine which legs need to be adjusted for the machine to sit flat. If the machine rocks from corner to corner adjust the legs accordingly but do not keep turning the legs out. If you can, turn a leg back into the machine to stop the rocking instead of turning the leg that is not touching the floor out. Once the legs are where they need to be tighten the locking nuts on the legs against the machine so the legs will not turn if the machine is moved and when back in place again your adjustment will keep.

Washers end up across the room when their off balance either by the load inside them or pressed up against them. The easiest way to remedy this is to distribute the load evenly and make sure the machine is on level ground.

Is the TV across the room? If it is, this is probably the place where your "washer" would rather be. It is out of balance because it feels like it has better things to do.

Part of the problem can be that you need to level your washer side to side and front to back. Any change in the floor can start things moving. Use a level and raise or lower the feet by screwing or unscrewing them. Also they make coaster like things that are available in appliance stores or hardware stores to put the feet on that keep the feet from sliding easily on your floor. They usually have a gritty surface on one side almost like sandpaper. The other thing that finally helped me was getting a plastic tray that they sell for washers and dryers to keep them from leaking on your floor. Once it's in the tray and level it tends to stay level and in the same spot longer.

I had to figure this out the hard because my roomie and I are both idiots. When you put the clothes in, kind of press down gently to make sure all the clothes are level with each other. Make sure all the gaps are full and close the lid. DONE. : ) No tipping the thing back or whatever. : ) Good luck Babez

id say your washer is at that age where it wants to go out and start its own family. either let it leave or you can race my washer, ill put 50 bucks mine jiggles 30 feet before yours goes 10----seriously don't put heavy spiked jeans on one side and spiked bras on the other-----it could be that something has come lose and that means you'll have to take it apart and replace tighten part. i did my moms this way.

they have adjustable feet make sure they are set up right for area you wish it to stay ,, put clothes into washer evenly don't just toss em in! 3 pairs of wet jeans on one side and a t-shirt on the other makes for a rough ride,,, also will kill the motor quickly
