I have an 06 Chevy Trailblazer and I am wondering if there is a way to increase the performance without tearing up the engine in 3 years.

Question 2

How much do you think it would cost to put a 12 inch lift on it? Full suspension and everything.

My dad has the same car. He put a Superchip Program in his and it rolls. That inline 6 is pretty quick. You could do a cold air intake from AEM and Magnaflow exhaust but that really doesnt increase your HP much maybe 8 and it'll make that nice truck pretty loud but some people like that. Good Luck with the suspension lift. To save some money on that try a 3 inch body lift thats only about 400 bucks.

That inline 6 is a pretty big engine a 4.2 liter if I remember right. A ford Triton V8 is a 4.6 liter. That isnt much bigger. And that programmer should give you about 17-20 HP thatll help you move those big tires

The trailblazers have there good sides and bad sides. There were many recalls, including on the tail lamps as previously stated. The newer models are much better now that all of the 'bugs' are out. I drive a Pontiac torrent and am very pleased with it. It is a little smaller than the trailblazer but so far so good. I can say that repair needs do come up a lot with the tblazer. Just keep up with allllll of the recommended maintenance and it should be good. I have not seen many tranny issues, or engine issues with the oldest to the newest models. Good luck!

LOL your kidding right! You should have bought a Tahoe! better suspension with tons of companies making 6-12" lifts and a better motor with tons of upgrades! No one makes that much lift for a blazer. It would have to be a 100% custom job! Costing upwards of $10k. Thats suspension only...now lets talk motor, tranny, axles...at least another $10-12K all custom!

With 12" lift what tires are you planning on running 38's. The stock Trailblazer doesnt have the axle strength or strong enough running gear. Nor the powerplant.

Sell the trailblazer and get a Hoe!

a twelve inch suspension lift might cost about $2000 or more... and will include new shocks and upgraded leaf springs. As far as performance goes, you may want to install a new motor (chevy 350 small block) with bigger headers, and new exhaust. Oh, also keep in mind, if you raise the truck, it will only hurt the performance and could possibly hurt the transmission gears unless they are upgraded for off-road performance.... you will also need bigger tires and wheels (possibly and additional 2000 dollars). Good luck!

like the other people said...this is a money pit...I believe you might end up spending over 10 g's on your truck and learn the hard way..your engine is'nt strong enough to push along the bigfoot wheels....if it was a Tahoe, you could stuff a supercharger and a Vette engine in there...I would go back and get a 97 or older Suburban...if money ain't a thang or gas mileage...you could incorporate more versatile shared platforms used by GM and have the power as the ride that you want....you got to have that V-8 or it ain't really a monster...it's a Elmo mobile right now..

Good luck on both questions... First of all, you will never get the performance out of you V-6 with out spending a ton of cash. Second of all your gonna lose all the performance when you install the lift kit and larger tires...
You would probably be better off buying a truck that has already been lifted and has a V-8 in it...
