How much of an improvement in the current situation would be required before Dems would quit calling for a withdrawal?
And if this does happen, wouldn't that make George Bush correct for not wavering to popular public opinion, and, wouldn't it also make the Democrats wrong? When you look at the overall situation, we've really not been entirely unsuccessful in our endeavors- why would it be advantageous for the US to pull out now, when we are so close to acheiving EVERYTHING we set out to in the first place? I'll tell you why- because Democrats and the liberal media can't stand to see Bush succeed, and that is sad because the new democratic government in Iraq is in place and so near to succeeding- and wouldn't it be to the US's good to give this every chance to succeed. Failure to see this through could easily create much more difficult military decisions down the road. Problems the democrats will have to deal with.

You are right exactly. For every war there have always been people against it and now that elections are on the horizon the Democrats are turning this country against each other. I am proud of our president for sticking to his convictions.

George Bush is not killing our soldiers in Iraq...Al Quieda backed insurgents and Iranian secret service forces are....
The way I see it is that people that were for the war when we didn't foresee the Al Quieda and Iranian involvement factor now want to pull out because they thought it would be easy.
Now that it has proved to be a hard struggle they blame the president for something they supported to begin with.
these are the type of people that say "I've got your back" and then run when trouble comes.
The problem is our soldiers are not able to confront the enemy without some kind of political humanitarian backlash
When our forces are allowed to unleash against the enemy and the tide of this conflict turns in our favor these people will stand up and say"I knew we could do it all along"

I don't consider myself to be either republican or democrat. I hate to think I had to be either one or the other. I don't support war period. I love the troops but not the war. I feel that the situation could have been handled better to begin with. I am so sick of hearing about "the liberal media" what about the "right wing zealot media"? I'm sick of the whole mess. News flash the fighting over there is never going to end NEVER. If George read his Bible he would know that. The Muslims (Sunni and Shiite), the Jews, and Christians have been fighting for thousands of years over there and it is not going to end because George Bush intervened. We don't need to be in the middle of it. We need to worry more about guarding our boarders and keeping the loonies out rather than going over there and throwing fuel on the fire. We can not police the world and it is unethical to attempt to impose our way of life on others.

You must be one of Bush's boys still trying to convince the world that mission will be accomplished in Iraq. Better hurry and apply for a job in support of the greatest president who ever lived, the most intelligent and greatest leader of the United States the last 7 years.

We have tried it Georges way for 5 years now and he has been consistently wrong. He lied about WMD and we lost the war on terror the minute we decided to shove democracy down the Iraqi peoples throats. Russia even said you cant force that on those people. There is nothing GWB can do to make things better except leave office. He is an idiot.
The only way out of this mess is to elimimate our addiction to oil. WE must find other means of powering our lives. Take the oil and stick it !

Well 250 more terrorist were killed by a joint operation between Iraqi and American forces, and not 1 Democrat even mentioned that this happened. Democrats only back surrender. All but Joe Lieberman.

I wish you and Mr Bush the joy of your war. Lets see if some one can find a POLITICAL solution instead of a military one. Then maybe I will support it.
I am sorry but I still suscribe to the creed that the ends don't justify the means. Its a slippery slope once you begin invading and occupying other sovereign states for " freedom " and " democracy" . Or was this about WMDs ? I forget.
