I would also like to know how i can log into the internet from my wireless laptop. And if I need a wireless router will it give a signal to my laptop even if I am so far away.

In order for you to log into the internet using your wireless adapter in your laptop you will need two things.
1) Either a DSL or Cable Modem and internet account
2) A Wireless Router
OR
You can go down to your local coffee shop and log on to thier wireless internet connection usually for free.

That card is adapter for connecting to a wireless network, if you have yet to buy a router you have to get one, "far" is subjective, the average distance of a home setup is about a house length but you have to experiment with your own wireless radio to find it out.

There are two important configuration details, SSID and security (either WEP or WPA) without them matching in laptop and router, your wireless will remain non-working.
