My girlfriend is a big believer in community support and I think she's right... if young mothers knew that they would be helped by their family and community when they had their child, and it wouldn't mean they'd have to give up school and their career and stuff, there wouldn't be so much need for abortion. We need to remove the shame, stigma and negative consequences of having a child at a young age, and much of the demand for abortions will be also removed.

Yes, of course we need to work towards eliminating abortion. I'm pro-choice, myself, but I still don't think abortion is the best option, not because we need MORE children up for adoption...there are plenty...but because of the psychological/physical damage it inflicts on the mother (regret, inability to get pregnant again, etc.), the negative ways it can effect relationships, etc.
I support a woman's right to choose to have an abortion but only if it is in the right circumstance, for example- the baby is conceived by rape, the mother/child's life is threatened, the mother knows she will not be strong enough to let the child go (even if it is to better places), etc.
As for change...
To change children conceived by rape- Start giving harsher punishments to rapists, that will encourage some to stop and some not to do it again.
To change lives threatened- Keep the medical field improving, learn new ways to destroy potentially fatal diseases. If the threat is from someone trying to kill them then put better systems of protection in place.
To change the mothers ability to let go- I think is impossible. As women, we are all born with a maternal instinct, some more than others and I don't think there is a way to change that nor do I think it would be good to change that.
ETC.
Well, these are my thoughts. Hope there of help.

the only way we can end abortions it to prevent pregnancy in the first place, and the way to do that is to make the couple completely and I mean completely. no help from friends family or government responsible for every thing with regard to that child up to and including a university education, I I knew that I was going to have to spend the next 20 years minimum looking after a mistake I would find alternate ways to get my sexual satisfaction.

Girls have become too promiscuous in the recent years. They really need to think about consequences. The guys are using sex as bragging rights they should brag about taking care of their responsibilities and acting like men. Isn't it more respectable to say," I have to get home and see my child." Instead of "I have to get home and drive my girlfriend to the abortion clinic." Vote more Dems into office and there will be alot more abortions. Right now there's about 1 every 20 seconds in the USA alone. That's sad. We don't respect our own children why should other countries respect us?

There is no need for abortions. They are simply promoted as a "way out" of a difficult situation instead of the parents taking responsibility for their actions and dealing with the predictable result of sex. I mean, how long have we known that sex creates a baby? Like, forever? The way we need to change society is to return to the reality that sex is a sacred thing, not some hobby/pasttime that we engage in for sport. No one has a "right" to have sex, and they certainly don't have a right to sex without consequences. If you choose to have sex, even with birth control that makes it clear that there is still a chance of becoming pregnant, then you have no one to blame but yourself. You especially have no right to make an unborn child pay the price for your irresponsible behavior.
Definition of insanity: Doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.

We should start by acknowledging that there is never a "need" to kill an innocent human being.

We have been teaching sex education for years and years. Contraception is readily available. I'd tie their legs together.
