I am pretty good at this and I am missing something. I've done all the setup steps and all the lights come on the modem and router except the activity light. In network settings the local area network says connected by there isn't any received packets only sent ones. I cannot connect to the internet but i can communicate with the router. I thought it was just a firewall issue but it isn't because they are OFF. With this router do I have to delete the SBC software or what? What else am I missing?

I am thinking that you have to use one or the other....either windows to manage the connection or SBC........ you might uninstall the software and try just letting windows recognize it .......leaving the cd in the cdrom and when asked for the location of the drivers.....butta bing let windows get it from the cd and bypass the SBC crap..... you may also not have you tcp/ip settings set to automatically detect...is it a wireless network? did you tell it to make a network connection in your networksettings......check your internet options and make sure that it set thru there....hope that helps and covers about everything you might not be seeing.....I too have a belkin wireless router and linksys PCI card......

Make sure you are using the correct type of wiring going from you phone jack to the modem and the ethernet connection going from the modem to the router. Check the router to see if the internet light is on. Open your internet browser and type http://192.168.1.1 and press enter. You should see a screen allowing you to log onto your router. Do not enter a user name. The default password should be admin unless it has been changed. Look at the settings in there to see if the router is finding your internet connections. One thing you should do first though is disconnect your computer from the router and go directly to your DSL modem. Try going on line. If you can, then your wiring is correct. You may have to go into your router settings to put in your user name and password and you may have to designate your connection type as PPoE. But before you do that try using (Obtain IP address)
