the one you stated for the outfield is a Bill Mueller autograph glove, wasn`t he a third baseman?
what does that tell you?

Infielder gloves, (except at first base) tend to be smaller than are outfield gloves. Infielders need to be able to get the ball out of the glove quickly and make a relatively short toss within the infield to throw out the runner.
Outfields and first baseman use gloves with larger pockets and longer fingers, which gives them a better chance to catch the ball and have it stick in their glove.
The rules about gloves are found from 1.12 - 1.15 of the rule book. You'll note that minimum sizes aren't listed.

infield patters range from the sizes of the rare 10 3/4 in. to 12 in. outfield is
12 1/2 in. to 12 3/4 in. they do make rare 12 1/4 ulti gloves to be used at third of corner outfield spots.
Hope you didn't get a glove yet, this is just for player to player. i have both heart of the hide and pro preferred. i say go with Rawlings, ALWAYS, just the best on the market, no question. But i say go with the Heart of the Hide, i feel as the pro preferred has a longer break in time.
this is where my teammates and i go for gloves good price, fast deli every, good choices. www.ballgloves.com

as a baseball player, outfielders gloves tend to be bigger in size because they don't need to transfer the ball out of the glove as quick as infielders to. the glove size your talking about is definitly an infielders mitt, but ultimately its up to player preference. me being a player use a 11 1/4 and try to stay within the range of that.

An infielders glove is smaller and shorter in length. An outfielders glove can be a maximum length of 12 inches

stick with 11.5, the smaller the better in the infield...you need to get the ball out of your glove as quickly as possible..also, a smaller glove forces you to get lower to the ground and stay that way so that the ball doesnt go under your glove. Im an outfielder and my glove is 12.5. Stay small.

Does it "really" matter? Pick a glove you like, that feels the best, and that you can play in, and use it. You're an infielder, so pick the glove that you can get the ball out of the quickest. It shouldn't matter what the label says if you can use it effectively.

get the smaller glove for infield because you have to get rid of the ball faster and make the throw, it's just better for the infield
