so you have two points

A (-2,0)
B (0,3)

Slope-intercept form is
y = Mx + C

where M is the slope
C is the y intercept (ie B)

slope is y-step over x-step

slope = 3/2
M = 3/2

y intercept is 3
C = 3

(okay - so the wiki page uses y = Mx + B for some reason)
